We are seeking a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) with epilepsy care, including Buccal administration, to join our educational team in Lambeth. This role is crucial for providing targeted support to students with epilepsy, ensuring their safety and enhancing their learning experience.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Provide direct support to students with epilepsy, ensuring their well-being and safety during school hours.
- Administer Buccal medication as required, following proper protocols and guidelines.
- Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) specifically tailored to support students with epilepsy.
- Work closely with teachers and healthcare professionals to monitor and report on the students’ health and educational progress.
- Facilitate an inclusive learning environment that accommodates the needs of students with epilepsy.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Certified training in epilepsy care, including Buccal administration.
- Experience as a Learning Support Assistant or similar role, preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with epilepsy and the ability to effectively support their educational and health needs.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and medical professionals.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion.
