About the RoleWe are seeking a dedicated Literacy Teaching Assistant to join our team at a dynamic and inclusive secondary school in Tower Hamlets. Your role will focus on working with small groups of students who face challenges with literacy and learning.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide targeted literacy support to students in small groups, tailoring activities to meet individual learning needs.
- Assist in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel confident to engage and thrive.
- Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to plan and deliver effective literacy interventions.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents/carers where appropriate.
- Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging them to develop their confidence and love of learning.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a genuine passion for education and supporting students with learning difficulties.
- Possesses excellent communication skills and a patient, empathetic approach.
- Is able to adapt to the diverse needs of students and motivate them to achieve their potential.
- Ideally has prior experience working with young people or within an educational setting (experience supporting students with learning difficulties is desirable).
- Holds a GCSE (or equivalent) in English at grade C or above.
