Primary SEN Teaching Assistant - Haringey (ASAP Start)

This Primary School are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Primary SEN Teaching Assistant to join their vibrant and supportive primary school in Haringey. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual passionate about supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) to thrive in a positive and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering tailored learning plans for pupils with SEN
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with a range of learning, physical, and emotional needs
  • Assist with the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Help to create a safe and stimulating learning environment for all students
  • Support students' social and emotional development, helping them to develop resilience and confidence
  • Collaborate with other staff members, including SENCOs and external specialists, to ensure the best possible outcomes for students
  • Assist with classroom management and maintaining high standards of behaviour

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs (SEN)
  • A positive, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting students with diverse needs
  • Knowledge of different SEN strategies and techniques is desirable
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • A passion for helping students achieve their full potential
  • A relevant qualification in education, such as a Teaching Assistant qualification or similar, is preferred but not essential
  • An enhanced DBS check will be required prior to employment
