Teaching Assistant

We are currently looking for an experienced primary SEND teaching assistant for a full time (term time only) job role in an good primary school. The school needs someone who can demonstrate previous success in working with children with ASD and Complex needs. The school strives to provide the best quality teaching and learning with an inclusive and personalised curriculum. The school is passionate about preparing students for life and supporting them to achieve their personal goal.

The team within the school is very supportive and will help you along the way. The school is committed to delivering great educational outcomes. Learning, wellbeing and safeguarding are at the heart of what they do.

Key Skills required:

· Patience - remaining calm in challenging situations

· Flexibility - adjusting your teaching in line with the needs of the student

· Good social skills -you must be able to work well within a team

· Good communication skills to support your students needs

· Creative - adapt how you support your student to offer the best learning experience

· Sensitivity and empathy - being kind, understanding and respectful of the student at all times.

The candidate for this role will be experienced supporting a child with autism who needs that special person to support their learning. The right candidate will have the patience and commitment to provide a safe and welcoming learning environment for the student.

Requirements:

  • A Teaching Assistant Qualification OR Relevant SEN Background
  • ASD, Complex needs experience
  • Recent school based references
  • Valid ID documents
  • Full DBS - on the update service or willing to apply for one.
  • Must be willing to administer personal care.
