SEN Specialist Teaching Assistant |Immediate Paid Trial| Long Term Contract

We are seeking a nurturing SEN Specialist Teaching Assistant to join one of our most flourishing mainstream schools in south east London. As a SEN Teaching Assistant we require you to support various pupils within a primary school setting. Some of the pupils have special education needs (i.e ASD ADHD or PMLD). The school has strong supporting team who strives to be the best in every aspect of education, facilitating a network of dedicated staff who want to make a difference to young pupils future.

Role: SEND Specialist Teaching Assistant

Start: ASAP

Contract: Full time

School Type: Primary

Location: SE4, South East London

Rate: £95-105

Ideal Candidate:

  • Assisting in the development of appropriate resources, schemes of work and teaching strategies.
  • SLD/ASD/PMLD & Complex needs experience preferably.
  • Supervising and supporting a classroom in a group setting.
  • Supporting with behaviour management.
  • Undertaking structured and agreed learning activities/teaching programmes, adjusting activities to ensure achievement of learning goals.
  • Establishing good relationships with children, acting as a role model.
  • Promoting the inclusion and acceptance of all children, supporting difference and ensuring that all have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.

Requirements:

  • Basic knowledge of SEND and learning barriers.
  • Some knowledge of strategies in working with young people with challenging behaviours.
  • Safeguarding experience.
  • Experience of working directly with young people in an education or training environment, supporting the learning of students.
