The Opportunity:
Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs (SEN)? Long Term Futures is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a supportive school in Tower Hamlets. Starting in January, this role involves working closely with children who require additional support, helping them to thrive both academically and socially within a nurturing learning environment.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience supporting children with SEN, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, or speech and language difficulties.
- An understanding of strategies to support children with additional needs, enabling them to access the curriculum effectively.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting children with complex needs.
- A commitment to creating an inclusive and positive classroom environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing one-to-one or small group support for children with SEN to help them engage with their learning.
- Assisting the class teacher in implementing tailored strategies and interventions.
- Supporting pupils' social and emotional development to promote their confidence and independence.
- Monitoring progress and contributing to the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Encouraging positive behavior and fostering an inclusive atmosphere where all students feel valued.
