Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Tower Hamlets
Salary Range: £90 - £100 per day (Depending on experience)
Start time: January 2025, 8:30 am – 3:45 pm Â

Are you a passionate and skilled Teaching Assistant with experience in supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?
A welcoming primary school in Tower Hamlets is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work in KS1, starting January 2025.
Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for children in KS1 with diverse SEN needs.
- Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and tailor learning activities to meet individual needs.
- Create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment to promote student development.
- Collaborate with teachers and the SENCO to adapt teaching materials and strategies.
- Monitor and record progress, offering feedback to staff and parents.
- Use a child-centred approach to manage behaviours and encourage positive interactions.
- Support children with personal care or mobility needs when necessary.
Requirements of the SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Experience working in a primary school setting, particularly with SEN students.
- Strong understanding of SEN strategies and practices.
- Ability to provide focused support to KS1 students on a one-to-one or small group basis.
- Knowledge of KS2 is beneficial.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
