Position: 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Waltham Forest, London
Pay: 90 - 120 per day (depending on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:45 PM
Start Date: January

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a child with Special Educational Needs in Waltham Forest. This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the life of a child, providing tailored support to help them thrive academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to a child with SEN, assisting with both their academic and social needs.
  • Implement tailored strategies to help the child access the curriculum and develop key skills.
  • Support the child in building positive relationships with peers and staff.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure the child's individual learning plan is followed.
  • Assist in classroom activities, helping other children where required.
  • Ensure a safe and supportive environment for the child, monitoring progress and wellbeing.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with children with SEN, particularly in a 1:1 setting.
  • Strong understanding of how to support children with additional learning needs.
  • Empathy, patience, and a commitment to supporting children's development.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and communicate effectively with staff and students.
  • A proactive and positive attitude towards challenges.
