SEN Teaching Assistant | Year 3 | Primary School | Lewisham, London (SE23) | Immediate Start - Long-term Role |£95 - £110 per day, term time only

Long Term Futures is seeking a compassionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Lewisham (SE23). This role will involve working in a mainstream Year 3 class, providing 1:1 support to two students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Year 3 class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom management
  • Provide 1:1 tailored support for two students with SEN, adapting learning materials to their specific needs
  • Implement and monitor individualised education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the class teacher and SENCo
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being, helping students build confidence and independence
  • Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment that encourages progress and participation

The ideal candidate will:

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN, ideally in a primary school setting.
  • Relevant Level 3 TA Qualification or Equivalent is desirable.
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to working with children who have additional needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
  • A proactive and adaptable attitude to support the varying needs of the students
