SEN Teaching Assistant | Primary School | Putney, Wandsworth, London (SW15) | Immediate Start | 90 - 105 per day | Full-time
Long Term Futures is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a well-established primary school in Putney, Wandsworth (SW15). This role involves working closely with primary-aged students, providing support both in the mainstream classroom and in tailored settings to meet the needs of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
The ideal candidate will hold relevant qualifications and have a strong background in working with primary school children, particularly those with SEN.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for children with SEN, tailoring activities to their individual needs
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons in the mainstream classroom
- Implement personalised learning plans to help students overcome barriers to learning
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment, promoting independence and confidence in all students
- Monitor and record student progress, working collaboratively with teachers and SENCo to adapt support as needed
- Assist with classroom organisation, resource preparation, and lesson delivery
Candidate Criteria:
- Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Certificate, CACHE Level 3 Diploma, or equivalent
- Previous experience working in a primary school setting, particularly with SEN students
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with students, staff, and parents
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to working with children who have additional needs
Additional Information:
- Full-time role, Monday to Friday. No weekends.
- Paid 90 - 105 per day, term time only
- Excellent public transport links and parking are available.
- Long-term to permanent placement.
