We are currently seeking a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEND TA) to join a 2-form entry primary school, supporting students in Key Stage 1 in Southwark.
About the Role:As an SEN Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities include:
- Providing Tailored Support: Assist students with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs, ensuring their academic and personal growth.
- Fostering Inclusion: Build a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborating with Educators: Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to implement effective support strategies and behavioural plans.
- Encouraging Development: Support students in building confidence and independence through meaningful engagement.
- Supporting across age groups and learning levels when required.
- Experience in an SEMH or SEN-focused role is desirable, though newly graduated individuals are welcome to apply.
- A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection is required.
- Teamwork skills, along with the ability to work independently when needed.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
