LTS Group are currently looking for committed and motivated Learning Support Assistants to offer support to our client schools in Enfield, North London.

You will be supporting primary aged pupils, from 5-11 years old, who have Special Educational Needs, including:

  • Speech, language and communication needs e.g. Autism and Aspergers Syndrome
  • Social, emotional and mental health difficulties e.g. ADHD/ADD and behavioural difficulties

You will either work within a class group or on a one-to-one basis throughout the day to support students with both their learning and their personal, social and mental health needs.

The roles are full time, Monday to Friday, from 8.30am until 3.30pm. You will be paid daily, between £95 and £100 a day, on a weekly basis and you will be expected to follow the local school term dates, ideally avoiding taking holiday in term time to enable you to build good relationships with the pupils you support.

You must be able to demonstrate previous success supporting SEND children and ideally will have worked in a school setting. The most important attribute we are looking for is the ability to motivate and engage children to learn and progress.

These roles are not without their challenges; however they are very rewarding and you will be fully supported by a highly skilled, friendly staff team who will equip you with the resources and knowledge you need to help the pupils to progress.

A proven ability to empathise and relate to young people with higher needs is essential, so too is the ability to work as part of a team. As a minimum, candidates must be educated to grade 4 GCSE English and mathematics.

The ideal candidate would be expected to:

  • Assist with the planning and delivery of learning activities
  • Use individualised strategies to support students to access the curriculum
  • Encourage student participation and performance
  • Promote students personal, social, emotional and mental health development
  • Supervise students during non-classroom time
  • Work closely with the staff team to identify any issues and develop and implement appropriate solutions
  • Leading small group interventions to help catch up progress
  • Assist with the assessment and reporting of students academic achievements and behaviour

The schools are committed to helping pupils reach their full potential so it is just essential that you share this ethos and are full of enthusiasm and empathy to thrive in these roles.

If you are interested in these posts and would like to know more please contact us as soon as possible. We would be very keen to arrange a trial day for you to visit the schools and meet the pupils as soon as possible.
