The Opportunity:
Long Term Futures is seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support Key Stage 2 pupils in a welcoming and inclusive school in Newham. This role involves a combination of one-to-one support and group interventions, focusing on pupils with additional learning needs to help them thrive academically and socially.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience supporting children with special educational needs (SEN), including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, or learning difficulties.
  • A strong understanding of strategies to support children with SEN in both one-to-one and group settings.
  • Excellent communication skills to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
  • A proactive, patient, and adaptable approach to meeting the needs of individual pupils.
  • A commitment to fostering an inclusive and nurturing learning environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Providing tailored one-to-one support to pupils with SEN, helping them access the curriculum effectively.
  • Leading small group interventions to support social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Assisting the class teacher in adapting lessons and resources to meet the needs of SEN pupils.
  • Supporting pupils in developing self-confidence, independence, and positive behavior.
  • Monitoring pupil progress and contributing to Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Collaborating with the wider school team to create a supportive and inclusive environment.
