The Role:Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs? An inclusive and welcoming school in Waltham Forest is looking for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This role involves working within Key Stage 2, providing tailored one-to-one support and small group interventions to help children overcome barriers to learning and succeed in the classroom.

What we're looking for:

  • Experience working with children with SEN, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, or other additional needs.
  • The ability to adapt to the needs of both individuals and groups of pupils.
  • A patient and empathetic approach to working with children who require additional support.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and other staff members.
  • A proactive attitude with the flexibility to respond to the diverse needs of pupils.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing focused one-to-one support for pupils with SEN to help them engage with learning.
  • Delivering small group interventions aimed at improving academic, social, and emotional skills.
  • Assisting the class teacher in adapting and delivering lessons to meet the needs of all pupils.
  • Encouraging positive behavior and promoting independence within the classroom.
  • Tracking pupil progress and contributing to the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Working closely with the SENCO and other staff to provide a supportive and inclusive environment.
