Position: SEND Teaching Assistant

Location: Primary School on the Tower Hamlets / Hackney Borders

Start Date: February Half Term 2025

Contract: Until July 2025, with a view to extend

Salary: £90 - £100 daily

SANZA Teaching Agency is seeking a passionate and skilled SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) provision within a thriving primary school on the Tower Hamlets and Hackney borders. This high-needs provision supports 7 pupils with ASC and associated complex needs, providing an exceptional and nurturing learning environment.

About the Role

As a key member of a dedicated team of 3-4 educators, you will:

Provide personalized support for a small group of pupils with ASC and complex needs.

Use strategies such as Bucket Time, Attention Autism, Makaton, and PECS to enhance communication and engagement.

Assist in delivering tailored lessons and interventions that meet individual learning needs.

Create a structured and nurturing environment to support pupils' academic and emotional development.

Foster independence, confidence, and well-being in the pupils under your care.

What We're Looking For

We're searching for a SEND Teaching Assistant who is:

Experienced: Familiar with supporting pupils with ASC and complex needs, ideally within a primary or SEN setting.

Knowledgeable: Confident in using Bucket Time, Attention Autism, Makaton, and PECS (prior experience is highly desirable).

Compassionate: Demonstrates patience, empathy, and a positive attitude when supporting children with SEND.

Proactive: Adaptable and eager to collaborate with a committed team.

Dedicated: Passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of pupils with SEND.
