SEND/BSL level 2 Learning Support Assistants - Camden

Empowering Learning are currently recruiting for Learning Support Assistants to work within our SEND Schools in Tower hamlets, supporting pupils with ASC Hearing impairments and complex needs. We are looking for a dynamic and adaptable Learning Support Assistant, that will be able to support pupils daily in the classroom. Some of the pupils you will be supporting will have various SEND needs, experience of supporting different needs would be desirable but not essential. You will play a key role in supporting the pupils with communication, learning, and independence, in a safe and inclusive environment to help their development.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils with ASC
  • Supervising pupil's behaviour
  • Encourage and support the pupils learning and development.
  • Support social interaction.
  • Helping the teacher prepare for lessons and plan activities.
  • Personal care

Job Requirements

  • Experience of support children with ASC
  • British sign language level 2 qualification
  • Experience supporting children with learning difficulties or disabilities.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Valid child and adult enhanced DBS registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new one.
  • Able to commit to 6-12 months.
