We are currently recruiting a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEND TA) to make a meaningful impact in a 2-form entry primary school, supporting students in Key Stage 1 in Lewisham.
About the Role:As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide Tailored Support: Assist students with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs, supporting them academically and personally.
- Foster Inclusion: Create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment to meet the diverse needs of all students.
- Collaborate with Educators: Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to implement personalised support plans and behavioural strategies.
- Encourage Development: Build strong relationships with students to enhance their confidence and independence.
- Provide additional support across various age groups and learning levels as needed.
- Previous experience in an SEMH or SEN-focused role is desirable, but newly graduated individuals are encouraged to apply.
- A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection is essential.
- Ability to work both as part of a team and independently.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
