We are currently recruiting a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEND TA) to make a meaningful impact in a 2-form entry primary school, supporting students in Key Stage 1 in Lewisham.

About the Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide Tailored Support: Assist students with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs, supporting them academically and personally.
  • Foster Inclusion: Create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment to meet the diverse needs of all students.
  • Collaborate with Educators: Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to implement personalised support plans and behavioural strategies.
  • Encourage Development: Build strong relationships with students to enhance their confidence and independence.
  • Provide additional support across various age groups and learning levels as needed.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in an SEMH or SEN-focused role is desirable, but newly graduated individuals are encouraged to apply.
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection is essential.
  • Ability to work both as part of a team and independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
