This role requires a patient, understanding, and proactive individual with significant experience in Special Educational Needs (SEN).The successful applicant will also demonstrate excellent communication skills, working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to provide the best possible support for the student.Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support to a Year 4 boy with autism, adapting teaching methods to suit his specific learning needs.
- Develop and implement individualised learning plans in collaboration with the class teacher and SENCO.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Assist with classroom activities and ensure the student's safety and well-being.
- Monitor and record the student's progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.
- Support the student in developing social skills and managing sensory sensitivities.
Requirements:
- Proven experience working with children with autism and other SEN.
- Relevant qualifications in education or SEN support.
- Strong understanding of autism and strategies to support children with specific learning needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
