An 'Outstanding' specialist secondary school in Lambeth, catering to children aged 3-19, is seeking a qualified teacher to join their team from April 2025.

This small, nurturing school fosters an environment where students with highly complex learning needs and autism can achieve fulfillment, belonging, and independence. You'll be part of a well-resourced team that provides exceptional support to both staff and students, with access to comprehensive professional development opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised Overseas Teaching Certificate (validated by NARIC)
  • Experience working with SEND students in mainstream or specialist settings
  • Patience, understanding, and flexibility in approach
  • Strong communication skills
  • Up-to-date DBS check (on the update service)
  • Experience with PECS, Makaton, Intensive Interaction, Rapid Prompting Method, or similar alternative communication methods is advantageous but not mandatory

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver tailored lessons based on individual EHCPs (Education, Health, and Care Plans)
  • Conduct and manage assessments for your class
  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of pupils under your care
  • Collaborate with teaching and support staff for the best student outcomes
  • Foster independence and support student well-being
