About Us:

Our popular and friendly primary school in Lewisham has an exciting, new opportunity available to work with pupils with SEMH. They are looking for an experienced Behaviour Mentor to join their primary team as they focus on the progress of their SEN pupils. The school has recently invested in new resources and equipment. It is an exciting time to join the school!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the classroom teacher work with SEMH/ SEN pupils.
  • Differentiate work according to each child’s individual needs.
  • Have good organisational skills.
  • Have good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Provide one-on-one support to children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) when required.
  • Encourage social, emotional, and cognitive development.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Teaching Assistant or equivalent.
  • Experience: Previous experience working with SEMH/ SEN pupils
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of behaviour management
  • Desirable: Experience working with children with SEN in a school/ provision.
