Job Title: Behaviour Support Assistant


Location: Newham
Salary: £90 to £110 per day (dependent on experience)

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to join special schools in Newham. The role involves supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly those with moderate learning difficulties and behavioural challenges. Prior experience in an SEN setting is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored behaviour support to students with special needs in both classroom and one-to-one settings.
  • Assist in implementing strategies to manage challenging behaviours and promote positive outcomes.
  • Work closely with teachers and SENCo to ensure students receive appropriate support.
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in an SEN setting is preferable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience when working with students who have complex behavioural needs.
  • A solid understanding of safeguarding and child protection protocols.
