GSL Education is looking for a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant in Waltham Forest to work in special schools. If you have previous experience in an SEN setting and a passion for supporting students with Special Needs, this is an excellent opportunity to make a difference.

Role Overview: As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will be providing support to students with a range of special educational needs, including moderate learning needs and behavioural challenges. Working closely with teachers and support staff, you will help foster a positive learning environment and implement strategies to manage behaviour effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and group support to students with behavioural and emotional needs.
  • Work alongside teachers to create and implement personalised learning and behavioural strategies.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and support emotional wellbeing.
  • Promote an inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in an SEN setting is preferable.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with children with complex needs.
  • A positive and resilient attitude, with the ability to manage challenging behaviour.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
