Are you passionate about supporting young people with autism and complex needs? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Mentor to join our SEN school in Ilford, working with post-16 pupils who have autism and significant learning challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to post-16 students with autism and complex needs, helping them to achieve personal and academic goals.
  • Collaborate with teachers and specialists to create and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Support students in developing life skills, independence, and confidence.
  • Implement strategies to manage challenging behavior and foster positive interactions.
  • Facilitate small group and one-to-one sessions in line with students' needs.
  • Liaise with families and other professionals to ensure holistic support for each student.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with young people with autism and complex needs.
  • A calm, patient, and nurturing approach to support learning and emotional wellbeing.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A relevant qualification in special needs or a related field is desirable but not essential.
