We are working with a SEMH secondary school located in West London who are looking to recruit Nurture Teachers to support children with social, emotional and mental health needs.

The role

If you thrive off a challenge and have a persevering personality, this role is ideal for you. This SEMH School works solely with those who cannot engage in mainstream education due to severe and complex social, emotional and behavioural difficulties. This role truly gives you the opportunity to turn around the lives of our next generation for the better.

  • Hold a relevant degree or equivalent or QTS
  • A clear understanding of the features of high quality teaching and learning at KS3 or upper KS2
  • Essential Application/Interview Commitment to the safeguarding of all learners
  • Essential Application/Interview Demonstrable effectiveness in promoting equality and diversity through teaching, managing the learning environment and challenging discriminatory behaviour and attitudes

The school

Students have severe and complex social, emotional and behavioural difficulties and statements of special educational need. Many have been excluded from other schools and are regarded as 'unteachable’ when they join them, from the age of 11.

Their new purpose-built school gives them a safe haven. They provide minute-by-minute day-time support and a structured learning environment and, despite their challenging personal circumstances, their students make tremendous progress. When they leave them at 16, they are ready to engage with a positive future.
