We are seeking a dedicated DT Teacher for a full-time, permanent position in a supportive SEN school based in Westminster. This role is ideal for a candidate who is passionate about Design Technology and committed to enhancing student learning and development.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Plan and teach effective, creative, and varied lessons tailored to the needs of each student, ensuring all are encouraged to reach their full potential in Design Technology.
  • Utilise modern technologies such as Google Classroom to make learning current, relevant, and enjoyable.
  • Maintain a positive and enthusiastic atmosphere in the classroom, promoting a strong culture for Design Technology.
  • Assess students regularly in accordance with departmental and school policies.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to review and develop departmental schemes of work and contribute to the advancement of Design Technology within the curriculum and the school.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above in English and Maths (and Science if intending to teach at the primary level).
  • A bachelor’s degree in any subject.
  • Must possess a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) certificate.
  • Experience in or a strong understanding of the unique dynamics of an SEN school environment is advantageous.
  • Strong commitment to professional development and willingness to continue learning new skills and teaching methods.
