SEN Teacher - Autism Specialist

Location: Hackney, East LondonContract: Full-time, Permanent

We are seeking a passionate and experienced SEN Teacher specialising in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to join our dedicated team in Hackney. Our school caters for students with moderate to severe learning difficulties, and this role will focus on supporting those with autism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) for students with ASD, ensuring that teaching is adapted to meet their unique needs.
  • Use a range of strategies and techniques, including visual supports, communication aids, and sensory integration, to support students in both academic and social learning.
  • Foster a calm, structured, and predictable learning environment where students can develop their communication and social skills.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and parents to ensure a holistic approach to student development.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching approaches as necessary.

Requirements:
