SEN Teacher
We are seeking dynamic and enthusiastic Post-16 Teachers with a genuine passion for teaching students with special educational needs. As a Post-16 Teacher, you will have the opportunity to deliver creative and individualised teaching to support our students in their personal, social, and academic development. You will work closely with a team of experienced professionals, including SENCOs, therapists, and support staff, to ensure a holistic and tailored approach to education.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons to students with a range of special educational needs.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs and abilities of individual students.
- Implement and adapt the curriculum to suit the specific learning requirements of post-16 learners.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes independent learning and encourages student engagement.
- Collaborate with other teachers, therapists, and support staff to create individualised education plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students, parents, and relevant stakeholders.
- Promote the development of life skills, independence, and social integration among students.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and achievements.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience in teaching students with special educational needs, particularly post-16 learners.
- Strong knowledge of SEN teaching strategies and differentiation techniques.
- Ability to adapt teaching approaches to accommodate various learning styles and abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues, students, and parents/guardians.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting the holistic development of students with SEN.
