SEN teachers are needed for special educational needs (SEN) schools in North London for primary and secondary students.

As a SEN teacher, you will be working with students with a range of needs, from autistic spectrum disorder (ASD), to social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, to learning difficulties.

This school is easily accessible from around London, with great transport links.

Your responsibilities as a SEN teacher may include:

  • Lesson planning and delivery for students with a range of learning difficulties and complex needs. This may include alternative teaching methods, such as Lego therapy and intensive interaction sessions.
  • Helping students to develop confidence and independence.
  • Implementing behaviour management techniques, which may include physical restraints, to maintain a positive and safe learning environment.
  • Working with specialist teaching services, medical staff, counsellors, and psychologists
  • Being aware of safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of students.

To be a SEN teacher, you will need:

  • The right to work in the UK.
  • Early Career Teacher (ECT) with relevant experience will be considered.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or overseas trained teacher awaiting QTS.
  • A clear and up-to-date DBS
  • Experience working as an SEN teacher in a UK school.
  • A patient and 'can-do' attitude, committed to providing outstanding learning experiences.
