SEN Tutor for looked after Children

TeacherActive are recruiting for a Maths & English Tutors for October 2024. You will be working on a one-to-one basis, or in small groups with pupils that have SEMH and ASD needs. A SEN Tutor will work in educational settings or other venues - such as in libraries or at the home of the pupil.

To be considered for this role as a SEN Tutor you need to have:

  • Confidence in delivering lessons 1:1 or in small groups
  • Can teach Maths & English
  • Be Available 3-5 days a week
  • Confident working independently in the home
  • Ability to connect with children and families effectively and build trusting relationships
  • Excellent  KS1/KS2/KS3/KS4 curriculum knowledge ( Can be any)
  • Ability to differentiate the curriculum in a creative and bespoke manner
  • Experience with and understanding of working with SEMH/SEN
  • Prior experience working alongside pupils with SEND
  • Good general education levels in English and Maths
  • Knowledge, keen interest or understanding of the range of different types of learning difficulties and disabilities (SEMH, ASC, challenging behaviour)
  • Ability to adapt to various working environments and students with differing abilities
  • Practical approach to the needs of students with Learning Difficulties and Disabilities
  • Good interpersonal and communication skill and a caring attitude
  • Flexibility in terms of working patterns
