Paediatric Site Practitioner (PSP)

Based in London's leading Private Paediatric and Women's Health Hospital.

Full time Permanent : 37.5 hours per week with Shifts including Evenings, nights, two weekends per month with a generous shift enhancement

This is a varied role and you will work as part of the team of Paediatric Site Practitioner (PSP).

  • Our team of Paediatric Site Practitioners offer 24/7 cover across our wards, supporting with the assessment and management of acutely unwell and deteriorating paediatric patients, escalating as appropriate into HDU/PICU.
  • As a Paediatric Site Practitioner, you’ll provide a visible clinical presence around the site, acting as a role model and expert practitioner.
  • We’ll look to you to use your advanced nursing skill to co-ordinate resources and work closely with on-site Duty Managers.
  • Day-to-day you’ll be involved in the PICU step-down process and support with bed allocation as a key member of the Clinical Emergency Team.
  • Out of hours, you’ll be part of Paediatric Hospital at Night Team to ensure a timely and appropriate response to patient's needs.

The Hospital will offer a career with ongoing development, including a structured, competency-based development programme supported by the Lead Paediatric Site Practitioner and Head of Clinical Operations.

Qualifications and Attributes required:

  • NMC Registered Child Nurse
  • HDU/Critical Care experience certificate would be an advantage
  • Paediatric Physical Assessment Skills
  • Current APLS/EPALS provider
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Evidence of CPD e.g. Professional Portfolio
  • Organisation and leadership skills
  • Lateral thinker with strong coordinating and processing management skills
  • Leading a team experience
