Belcan Workforce Solutions has an estimated 12 month fixed term contract opportunity for a Procurement & Contract Manager based in London. This hybrid role requires one day in the office per week.

About the Role:

The Procurement Contract Manager will manage the procurement and contract administration function on projects which involves supply chain development, procurement strategy, tendering and evaluation, negotiation and contract management. The role also includes an input to main contract T&C reviews. The ideal candidate will have had previous experience in the procurement and contract management/administration of goods and services in the construction industry and will be a key member of the project delivery teams for a range of challenging projects of significant scale and complexity. Experience in regulated process sectors would be an advantage. The candidate will be familiar with standard Forms of Contract (eg. IChemE / NEC4) used in the UK and Europe and may be required to provide advice and guidance to others in the way in which the Contracts are to be administered.

Responsibilities:

  • To administer the process of procuring equipment, contracts, subcontracts and services for the Companies projects.
  • To work closely with project teams and customers delivering a service to fully meet their requirements and develop repeat work through excellent performance and quality.
  • To assist the review of main contracts and provide advice to project teams.
  • To administer contracts both on behalf of the Company and our Clients including payments, variations, expediting and forecasting.
  • To provide Cost and Commercial reporting.
  • Administer the procurement process from pre-qualification, tender recommendation to order/contract commitment.
  • Negotiating and positioning the Company and its customers in advantageous positions when procuring goods or services.
  • Development and Negotiation of Terms and Conditions in line with the Form of Contract Claims/variations negotiations and contract close-outs.
  • Comply with Company and Client Quality Assurance and Management system.
  • Based at or attend site as required to support projects, this may involve travel and time away from the home office.
  • Actively contribute to safety reviews and initiatives developed by the Company and liaise with suppliers and contractors on matters of health and safety performance from a commercial standpoint.
  • Attendance of training as required to support job role and to develop individual skills.
  • Liaise with Company and Client suppliers and contractors providing equipment packages or specialist services, to ensure contracted compliance of their work including deliveries.
  • Effectively report progress to Project Managers for related work and take ownership for the timely delivery of purchase orders and services contracts.
  • Develop positive relationships with Clients through professional conduct and delivering a quality service.

Qualifications:

Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors with relevant experience (RICS) or MCIPS. Relevant degree.

Required Skills:

  • Good knowledge of the engineering and construction market preferably gained with an engineering contractor.
  • Experience using ERP Systems.
  • Excellent knowledge of current UK procurement / finance legislation requirements (corruption etc).
  • Understanding of the Engineering Design process.
