The London Borough of Waltham Forest is currently seeking a Building Works Surveyor (Disrepair) to join their team on an initial 6-month contract. Key Responsibilities:
路Assess and address disrepair and maintenance issues across the borough's housing portfolio.
路Support the Repairs Partnering team by ensuring contractors, consultants, and partners deliver high-quality work that meets compliance standards, specifications, schedules, and budgets.
路Conduct regular site visits and maintain detailed digital records.
路Provide clear, accurate reports and ensure the asset management database is kept up to date.
路Deliver a resident-focused approach when managing disrepair cases, ensuring empathy and professionalism at all times.
路Collaborate closely with the Building Safety Operations and Compliance teams to ensure homes remain safe and compliant with regulations.
路Offer expert advice and support to colleagues, residents, and stakeholders, including handling escalated complaints and enquiries.
About You:
路Proven experience in building surveying, particularly within the context of disrepair.
路Strong understanding of housing maintenance, compliance standards, and contract management.
路Excellent communication skills with a commitment to resident-focused service.
路Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
