We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Carbon Manager to join DS Smith as our Customer Sustainability Manager (Carbon & Environment) at a pivotal point to drive our sustainability agenda forward.

The successful candidate will help our customers to deliver on their decarbonisation targets and sustainability ambitions by translating our carbon and environmental data into valuable insights and services. You will work closely with internal experts involved in carbon in different domains such as Operations, Procurement, ESG Reporting, and represent DS Smith as a carbon subject matter expert with customers and our industry.

Working with the wider teams to develop and deliver internal communications and training to support our sales colleagues to better communicate our targets, performance and the sustainability credentials of our products to our customers. You will also collaborate with our Design and Innovation teams on further integration of product carbon into decision-making tools.

About you

  • Degree engineering, environmental science, or related field
  • Exceptionally strong analytical and Excel skills with experience in data modelling, analysis, and creating dashboards/tools for carbon footprint calculations and reporting
  • Demonstrable experience with Scope 1, 2 & 3 emission calculations
  • Experience leading change with colleagues, customers, and suppliers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work independently but also comfortable building strong working relationships with colleagues around the business
  • Initiative-taking, detail-orientated & solutions focused

Location: This is a hybrid role, split between being our head office in Paddington and home, with limited travel to sites as needed
