Governance & Assurance Stream Lead - SOx Remediation Programme 12 Month Contract Inside IR35

My client a top Global company are currently looking to recruit a Governance & Assurance Stream Lead for a SOx Remediation Programme to join their team on a 12-month contract basis. Please note if successful this position will need to set up via an Umbrella Company/PAYE. The Governance & Assurance Stream Lead will report into the Head of SOx Remediation to provide thought leadership and execution on themes owned and managed by the stream as well as lean into the other streams, Tech, Process and People, to ensure we have coherent and organised delivery across the programme. The Governance & Assurance Stream Lead will also need to interface across all the other SOx impacting programmes like IAM Transformation, Cyber Maturity, PIA, SOx Maturity etc. as well as work closely with our SOx Operations team. The Governance & Assurance Stream Lead will need to work closely with SMEs from our clients first and second lines of defence to ensure we are implementing effective governance as well as tracking and delivering an effective First Line Assurance function.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that all G&A stream work packages are delivered?on-time, within scope and within budget.
- Represent the G&A Stream in governance forums.
- Collaborate with First and Second Line of Defence teams and other parties to define comprehensive control implementation across SOx impacted systems
- Coordinate with the other SOx Remediation streams and across the multiple different programmes impacting SOx compliance to ensure a coherent journey.
- Establish a backlog of work within the stream and develop a prioritisation matrix along with the other stream leads to prioritise
- Identify maturity metrics that can be leveraged to demonstrate improvement in SOx compliance from a technology perspective
- Understand scope and objectives and own the end-to-end project plan tracking progress for the G&A stream
- Establish enduring governance to manage impact to SOx systems from other Enterprise programmes
- Manage internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
- Report and escalate to management as needed.
- Produce management reporting on progress for the projects / programme within scope
- Manage the relationship with all stakeholders.
- Ensure risks / issues are identified and managed appropriately.
- Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation including evidence to support decision making
Experience of the following will be essential:
- Excellent relationship management, strong influencing, and communication skills with all levels of the organization including senior stakeholders.
- Had responsibility for implementing a robust set of ways or working and governance that is embedded with the team and practiced rigorously.
- Setting deadlines, tasks, and budgets for projects and tracking their progress
- Understanding and adhering to project standards, processes, and methodologies, contributing to their evolution where necessary
- Identifying and capturing Risks, Issues and Impediments in a timely manner, and ensuring that those identified are being managed proactively
- Producing and presenting management status reports to support the progress of your projects
- Has first-hand experience and understanding of the SOx technology environment, ability to work with system owners to ensure SOx compliance requirements are effectively and sustainably met
- Needs to have managed and conducted escalations to other teams and to stakeholders.
- Excellent teamwork skills
- Track record in successful programme and project delivery in a global and mixed internal/external resource model with complex inter-functional designs and dependencies.
