Receptionist for GP Surgery in North London

This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong work history in Admin and Customer service to work at a friendly and growing practice.

Days/Hours:
Monday 2.30pm - 6.30pm
Tuesday 2.30pm - 6.30pm
Wednesday 8am - 6.00pm (1-hour unpaid lunch break)
Thursday 8am - 6.00pm (1-hour unpaid lunch break)
Friday 8am - 2.00pm

Duties:
Patient Records: Maintain accurate manual and computerised records and correspondence.
Reception Duties: Assist with bookings, referrals, patient contact, and other admin tasks.
Patient Recalls: Manage recalls for QOF, LCS, and Enhanced services via phone, SMS, and letters.
Mail Handling: Process incoming and outgoing post daily.
Telephone Handling: Answer and direct calls courteously, passing accurate messages.
Reception: Greet and direct patients and visitors, providing information.
Booking: Handle appointment requests and book them on the Emis system.
Registration: Enter data and manage records for new patients.
Updates: Process changes of address and other information.
Prescriptions: Handle repeat prescription requests.
Security: Ensure security when opening and closing the practice.
Policies: Follow confidentiality and information recording policies.
Respect: Treat patients and visitors with respect.
Maintenance: Keep reception and waiting areas tidy and hazard-free.
Cover: Provide cover for colleagues and work flexibly.
Training: Identify and undertake relevant training.

Desirable Experience:
  • Proficient with the computer system EMIS
  • Previous General Practice or Medical experience

Essential Criteria:
  • Administrative experience
  • Customer service experience
