About the Role:
As a Garment Technician, you'll be at the forefront of product development, ensuring that every piece of clothing reflects our client's commitment to quality and design. You will collaborate closely with the Design and Buying teams and suppliers, guiding garments through all stages of production.
Key Responsibilities:
Design Collaboration:- Partner with the design team to maintain up-to-date specification sheets for new design packs.- Develop standardised fits for core styles and classic pieces.- Assist with fabric construction insights during initial design phases.
Production Management:- Organise and lead fit meetings, ensuring adherence to critical paths.- Provide suppliers with technical data and feedback to maintain quality.- Monitor garment production stages, addressing any issues promptly.
Quality Control:- Conduct QC inspections on all goods before despatch to ensure high standards.- Perform store visits for spot checks on bulk items.
Commercial Awareness:- React swiftly to potential issues, solving problems as they arise.
Key Performance Indicators:
Timely delivery of products that meet the organisation's quality standards.Maintaining 100% adherence to critical path dates.Consistent reduction in return rates due to high-quality fit and finish.
Key Skills and Experience:
Essential:
Comprehensive understanding of garment design and production.Experience with a wide range of garment types and diverse manufacturing operations.Excellent organisational and communication skills.Confident in leading fit sessions and influencing outcomes.A proactive team player with a passion for product quality.
