Our client, a leading firm in the transport planning sector, is currently seeking a Senior/Principal Transport Planner to join their team. This permanent role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of development projects in sectors including residential, commercial, retail, and leisure.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and reviewing Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, and Environmental Statement Chapters
  • Building, running and interpreting outputs of Junctions 10 and LinSig software
  • Collaborating with consultancies and multi-discipline teams
  • Managing smaller to medium-sized projects from inception to completion
  • Engaging in negotiations and liaising with Highway Authorities
  • Leading business development initiatives and cultivating client relationships
  • Preparing fee proposals and managing project budgets
  • Mentoring and developing less-experienced team members


Job Requirements:

  • Experience in transport development planning, either in consultancy or a local authority
  • Proficiency in Vissum and Vissim software
  • Good understanding of the principles of transport planning
  • Strong presentation and technical writing skills
  • Ability to manage time effectively to meet project deadlines
  • Knowledge of highway design standards such as MfS, DMRB, LTN 1/20, and Active Travel England requirements
  • Experience in business development and client relationship building
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
