MAINTENANCE MANAGER (PRE-OPENING)
We are seeking an experienced, innovative, and hands-on Maintenance Manager to lead our Engineering department. As we prepare to transition from construction to operational excellence, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the propertys smooth handover from contractors while overseeing all technical and maintenance operations.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will build and manage a small but dedicated team of engineers. Your role will balance technical responsibilities with administrative duties, such as financial management and compliance monitoring. You will also champion key initiatives in sustainability, Health & Safety, and capital expenditure (CAPEX).
While not directly guest-facing, you will work in public areas, requiring a professional presentation and a commitment to minimising disruption for our guests. This is an exceptional opportunity to shape the engineering culture of a flagship boutique hotel.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee all repair and maintenance activities to ensure a seamless guest experience;
- Ensure the property is kept in pristine condition, meeting brand standards;
- Develop and execute a comprehensive preventative maintenance programme;
- Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive hotel maintenance schedule;
- Supervise and maintain all technical systems and installations;
- Engage and manage contractor and supplier relationships, ensuring maximum value for the hotel;
- Lead compliance with Health & Safety regulations, creating a safe and secure environment for guests and staff. Conduct routine inspections and audits to identify and resolve potential issues. Maintain records of certifications, inspections, and regulatory compliance;
- Monitor and optimise utility usage to enhance environmental sustainability and ESG performance;
- Understand and manage departmental budgets, with a focus on performance tracking and cost control.;
- Assist in forecasting and planning departmental financials, including CAPEX. Collaborate with other departments to address maintenance and operational needs promptly;
- Recruit, mentor, and manage a team of three engineers, focusing on their growth and performance. Schedule and supervise maintenance activities to ensure minimal disruption to operations.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

- 4+ years experience in a high-end hotel, preferably with pre-opening exposure
