Overview

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Food Technology Teacher to join a SEN School in Islington. You will be expected to teach a small class of SEN students Food Technology along with TA support. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food technology education and be committed to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging and inclusive food technology lessons to students with a focus on practical skills and theoretical knowledge.
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse learning needs of students including those with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Create a positive and supportive classroom environment that encourages student learning and participation.
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants and support staff to ensure all students receive the necessary support and accommodations.
  • Assess and provide feedback on student work to support their development and progress.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • A strong background in food technology education and a relevant degree/ previous experience as a food technology teacher
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN) is ideal.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to promoting diversity, equality, and inclusion in the classroom.
