Role Overview
As an Art and Design Teacher, you will engage and motivate students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, encouraging them to explore their creative potential and develop technical skills. You will be expected to plan and deliver high-quality lessons that cater to a wide range of abilities, ensuring all students are challenged and supported in reaching their full potential. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape young artists' creative journeys and influence the artistic culture within our school.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Art and Design lessons to students at various ability levels.
  • Develop students' creative skills in a range of art forms, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital design.
  • Foster a positive, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to help them improve.
  • Contribute to the school’s wider curriculum and extracurricular activities, including art exhibitions and competitions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues within the department and across the school to support student development and achievement.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree in Art, Design, or a related field.
  • Proven experience teaching Art and Design, ideally within a secondary school setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge across various art forms and media.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and a passion for inspiring creativity.
