Head of HR Vacancy, Southwark, London4 or 5 days, Permanent, Hybrid70-80K (FTE)The candidate must be available within 1 months notice to be considered for the role.HR Recruit is currently seeking an experienced Head of HR to work for our rapidly expanding SME in the consultancy sector. The focus of the role is to support the ongoing development of the business with a best-in-class people function that secures, develops and retains the best talent. The role reports into the COO and has 1 direct report.This role has a particular focus on mentoring and supporting young managers in developing their people skills and providing guidance on in the moment management challenges to ensure we maximize our team’s potential while prioritising their mental well-being.Role Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement ongoing HR strategy, in line with the People Strategy.
  • Set, monitor and manage the HR budget
  • Review of training needs analysis and champion L&D initiatives.
  • Support managers and team leaders on all recruiting matters.
  • Develop the Management Development and Leadership Development programmes
  • Advise managers and provide guidance on HR policy and procedures.
  • Keep up to date with UK employment legislation.
  • Ensure employee relation cases are managed to meet best practice requirements.
  • Develop and maintain succession plans to ensure leadership continuity and talent pipeline.
  • Design and implement strategies to enhance employee engagement and satisfaction.
  • Develop and maintain HR policies.
  • Monitor and develop performance appraisal systems.
  • Report key metrics at Board and Senior Leadership meetings
  • With the Senior Leaders, develop and roll out a competency framework.

Person Specification

  • An open and transparent, compassionate and straight-talking individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have at least 5 years previous HR experience in a generalist role.
  • Desire to nurture young managers, giving them the tools to excel as future leaders.
  • Experienced in strategic recruitment, compensation and benefits, L&D and Organisational Development.
  • Proven HR generalist experience on both strategic and operational level.
  • Thorough, up-to-date knowledge of employment law.
  • Enjoys working autonomously.
  • Exceptional planning and project management skills and experience.
  • Experienced in working in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in using HR analytics to drive data-informed decision-making.

You will be required to attend the office on Tuesdays, Wednesday and Thursdays. The client will consider candidates looking to work 4 or 5 days. The full time equivalent salary is 70-80K.
