Job Title: Despatch Operative
My client are a very well established Entertainment Lighting provider, who specialise in providing specialist lighting equipment to a range of well-known companies within the music, sporting, television and movie sectors and have worked on large scale projects such as The London Olympics, as well as some iconic, block buster movies. The company has a very fun, friendly feel and is a truly unique organisation to work for.
Due to business growth, they are looking to add a new member of staff to their Warehouse/Logistics team in order to support the supply chain, stock holding and logistics of equipment and stock supplies of electronic components.
PLEASE NOTE - In order to be considered for this role - YOU MUST BE A FULL UK LICENCE HOLDER (Manual Driving Licence) and be willing to drive a company van at times when required. The requirement to drive is minimal, but nevertheless, you will need to be a Full UK Driver Licence holder, who is confident driving a company van.
Key Features of the role:
Packing orders for Despatch (involves physical work and manual handling)
Van driving (full UK licence required) - occassional driving to their other site to pick up/drop off components or finished devices.
Kitting (can be trained if not experienced) - Picking orders according to client requirements and putting kits together.
Despatch - liaising with couriers to get items shipped to destination.
Reject Returns (can be trained)
Stocktake (can be trained)
Targets:
- Ensure orders are picked accurately and finished items/kits are prepared for despatch.
- Ensure adequate levels of stock and components to meet production and delivery demand
Skills/Experience Required:
- Previous Warehouse/Logistics/Stores experience (Minimum 1-2 year's - ideally within Despatch would be a distinct advantage);
- Must be a Full UK Driving Licence holder, with the ability and confidence to drive a Transit size van;
- Computer literate with basic skills in the use of Microsoft office;
- Accuracy and Attention to detail when executing tasks;
- Willing to be trained in the operation of a Forklift truck;
- Physically fit and able to carry out some manual handling responsibilities;
- Positive manner, flexible and willing to learn.
