GSL Education is seeking a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with special educational needs (SEN) in a school in Lostwithiel. This role is ideal for individuals who are patient, compassionate, and committed to helping children with Autism, ADHD, and other learning difficulties succeed in an educational setting. A UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with additional needs.
  • Assist in delivering individualised learning plans to support student progress.
  • Encourage participation, independence, and confidence in the classroom.
  • Support teachers in adapting resources and strategies to meet student needs.
  • Help manage behaviour challenges through positive reinforcement.
  • Supervise students during breaks, lunchtime, and school activities to ensure safety.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and parents to support student development.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children with SEN is desirable.
  • A strong understanding of Autism, ADHD, and other learning difficulties.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • A patient, adaptable, and compassionate approach to supporting young people.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.
  • A UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are required.
  • A DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
