Within Saint-Gobain Professional Services (part of Saint-Gobain UK & Ireland) we are looking for a Buyer to work in our Direct Procurement Team.

In a nutshell, you will deliver an excellent category management service for our business, enabling a safe, cost-effective and sustainable supply.

This role can be worked on a hybrid basis based from East Leake, flexible working arrangements will be considered

What we're looking for:

  • MCIPS Chartered Procurement and Supply Professional or studying towards qualification
  • Degree level qualification or equivalent by experience
  • Good numerical and analytical skills with ability to assimilate information
  • Good direct category management experience
  • Good communication and presentation skills, as well as the ability to solve problems
  • Ability to create and develop business relationships
  • Awareness of contract law and its application
  • Competence in negotiating, renewing and structuring supplier contracts
  • Competence in cross-functional projects
  • Being able to make sense of and allocate different priorities

What you will be doing:

  • Implement Business Risk Analysis plans and actions for managed categories
  • Enable implementation of Group procurement strategy
  • Drive the identification and realisation of opportunities for strategic categories of spend, whilst managing risks, within the supply chain to deliver optimal contractual, technical and value for money solutions
  • Develop and sustain a way of understanding the key market drivers and trends to be fluent at comprehending the future market landscape and implications for procurement
  • Actively participate in cross functional projects delivering risk reduction, innovation and cost advantages in strategic categories of spend
  • Ensure compliance with the Group Sustainable Procurement Program (including but not limited to, Supplier Charter and CSR assessments)
