Reed Further Education are currently working with an an independent specialist college and a charity that offers education, care and support to people with learning and communication difficulties.

They are searching for a dedicated Maths and English Tutor to empower young adults with learning and/or communication disabilities. This role is central to our mission of preparing students for adult life by developing their employability, communication, and social skills.

  • Location: Sileby, Leicestershire
  • Salary: £31,100 - £34,785
  • Hours: Part-time, 22.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Design and deliver engaging and ambitious schemes of learning and assessment that stretch and challenge students.
  • Plan and conduct hands-on activities that are meaningful and relate skills learnt in the classroom to real-life community settings.
  • Support students to realise their potential, overcome barriers, and achieve their goals.
  • Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for vulnerable young people.
  • Use your passion and experience to motivate and inspire students.
  • Assess student abilities and strive for continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the organisational mission, vision, and values.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject.
  • Teaching qualification is essential.
  • Experience teaching students with additional needs is desirable.
  • Ability to plan and execute lessons that cater to a variety of learning needs.
  • Strong communication and motivational skills.
  • Commitment to professional growth and development.
