Amber Mace are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Occupational Health Advisor (OHA) to join our team at a single-site location in Leicester. This is an exciting opportunity for an occupational health professional who thrives in a structured, on-site environment and is passionate about employee well-being and workplace health.
As the Occupational Health Advisor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality occupational health services, providing expert advice, and supporting both employees and employers in creating a healthy and productive workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct pre-employment health assessments and ensure compliance with fitness-to-work requirements.
- Deliver routine health surveillance, including audiometry, spirometry, vision screening, and other relevant occupational health checks.
- Administer and interpret the results of health screenings, ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
- Manage sickness absence cases, providing guidance on return-to-work strategies and reasonable adjustments.
- Conduct face-to-face and remote occupational health consultations, offering professional advice on health-related workplace issues.
- Provide reports with clear recommendations to HR and management, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Support employees with long-term health conditions, mental health concerns, and rehabilitation programs.
- Advise on risk assessments, workplace ergonomics, and health promotion initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and confidential occupational health records, ensuring GDPR compliance.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Registered Nurse (RGN) with a Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health (essential).
- Proven experience as an Occupational Health Advisor in a corporate, manufacturing, or industrial setting.
- Strong case management skills, with the ability to assess, advise, and support both employees and employers.
- Expertise in health surveillance techniques, including spirometry, audiometry, and vision screening.
- Knowledge of occupational health law, risk assessment, and workplace adjustments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
