Our client, who are an established construction organisation, are looking for a Senior Estimator / Estimator to join their thriving business. Our client provides solutions across a range of sectors, including restoration, refurbishment and new build projects up to contract value of 8 million in both the public and private sectors under traditional and design & build contracts.

Job Role:

Senior Estimator required who has strong experience pricing refurbishment, renovation and D&B projects. Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing Assistant Estimators and Administration staff.
  • Evaluating submission documents and agreeing bid strategies.
  • Preparing works packages including take offs and generating sub-contract and supplier enquiries. Compliance checking of sub-contract and supplier enquiries and submissions.
  • Preparing competitive, comprehensive and professional tender submissions.
  • Leading pre-submission discussions and adjudication panels with the Bid Manager and Directors.
  • Responding to post submission client enquiries and attending post submission client interviews.
  • Leading handover meetings to the operations team.

Should Have:

  • A formal qualification in a relevant discipline - ideally degree/HNC/ professional body membership.
  • A proven experience in the construction industry and a background of pricing refurbishment, renovation and D&B projects up to the value of 8 million.
  • A strong understanding and familiarity with the various procurement routes available.
  • Capable of preparing quantities in accordance with standard methods of measurement.
  • A wide knowledge of the construction process and forms of construction including ability to identify alternative build solutions.
  • An exemplary management, communication and negotiation skills.
  • An eye for detail with an ability to identify opportunities which will make a difference to tender submissions.
