Cranleigh STEM has partnered with a novel materials start-up who are recruiting an R&D Scientist to join its development team based at their Northeast facility on a permanent basis. You will act as an integral part of the team, where you will apply expertise to material processes to directly contribute to the efficiency of their innovative technology.
R&D Scientist responsibilities
- Apply expertise to material processes to directly contribute to the efficiency of their innovative technology.
- Use high friction, ball milling processes to optimise techniques.
- Develop and execute experiments to test formulations.
- Apply milling methods such as ball milling to achieve targeted compositions.
- Advanced material characterisation including XRD, PSD and TGA.
- Interpret and relay technical/experimental data
- Support scale-up of lab processes.
R&D Scientist requirements
- PhD in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or similar.
- Possess a strong background in both theoretical and practical knowledge of mechanical activation for inorganic materials.
- Proven ability to design and conduct scientific experiments.
- Hands on experience with various milling methods for material processing.
- Proficient in XRD, PSD, TGA for materials analysis.
- Display excellent communication skills.
