My client, a leading manufacturer of freezing and chilling equipment, is looking for a Workshop Chargehand to join our Manufacturing team. The successful candidate will report to the Workshop Manager and play a key role in completing manufacturing tasks, providing support and guidance to the workshop team and trainees, and ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards.

This role requires a self-motivated and adaptable individual who can contribute effectively to a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the manufacturing team follows all Health, Safety, and Quality guidelines, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the completion of manufacturing tasks to meet the workshop schedule and maintain workflow efficiency.
  • Provide support to the workshop team by addressing any manufacturing issues or challenges that arise.
  • Work closely with the Workshop Manager to resolve day-to-day operational issues and drive continuous improvements in the workshop.
  • Coordinate with other departments to resolve any manufacturing-related challenges and ensure smooth operations.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team, ensuring minimal waste and rework.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to ISO 9001/45001 standards for Health, Safety, and Quality, and ensure team compliance with all company procedures.
  • Assist the Workshop Manager in the daily operation of the workshop and support team development through coaching and mentoring.
  • Monitor team performance to ensure efficiency and motivate staff to maintain high standards.

Customer Focus

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting to improve workshop operations and meet customer demand.
  • Collaborate as part of a team to ensure smooth workflow through the manufacturing process.

Technology & Process Improvement

  • Help the Workshop Manager address and resolve any technical challenges in the workshop.
  • Ensure high-quality standards are maintained and
  • Ensure work is completed within contractual timelines and meets quality standards.
