Job Scope:
 
As an Offshore Crane Operator within our Hook-Up and Commissioning team, you will play a pivotal role in this groundbreaking project intended to power 1.2 million homes in the UK.
 
You’ll be responsible for Operating pedestal and gantry cranes for Hook-ups, performing routine crane inspections, maintenance, and record-keeping as well as Actively participating in safety meetings.
 
Your expertise will directly contribute to the efficient and safe execution of work scopes that are critical to the successful connection and commissioning of the world's largest offshore HVDC substation, setting a new global benchmark in the renewable energy sector.
 
Duties:
 
  • Conduct platform lifts as required, predominantly operating pedestal and gantry cranes for Hook-up and Commissioning activities.
  • Adhere to LOLER Regulations, ensuring all lifting operations comply with regulatory and company policies.
  • Ensure a safe working environment for lifting operations, including weather condition checks and clear communication within the lift party.
  • Competently operate platform cranes following authorised procedures, with a focus on safety and efficiency.
  • Perform routine crane inspections, maintenance, and record-keeping, reporting any deficiencies promptly.
  • Work collaboratively with maintenance teams and other departments to minimise operational delays and improve practices.
  • Actively participate in safety meetings, promoting a positive safety culture and adhering to company HS&E policies.
 
Qualifications & Experience:
 
  • OPITO/Sparrows Level 3 Competence Assessment Standard or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in offshore crane operations, with a strong awareness of health and safety practices.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety culture, with the ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
